Expendables, The (1988)

Vietnam war is raging wild and furious. Captain Rosello (Anthony Finetti) finds himself as the leading officer to bunch of misfit soldiers who are sent to do special missions.

Cirio H. Santiago's take on the Dirty Dozen theme. Group of misfit soldiers (all the usual suspects are in the group: lunatic, religious nut etc etc) are put in same unit, first they hate each other but in the end they would give their lives to save each other. Wow, that was deep!

Film's budget seemed to be ok, because there is enough exploding huts and other shit blown up to keep things interesting. Some of the sound effects were pretty wild: sometimes the gun shots sounded like they were made with a drum machine, oh well...

All in all, solid jungle actioner from Santiago. Well, did you expect something else?

Nice write-up. Love exploding huts and Santiago!

Thanks, still lots of huts to explode. Next up Killer Instinct (aka Behind The Enemy Lines) starring Robert "Terminator 2" Patrick.
